Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using GetSecureVault ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the GetSecureVault project maintainers.

GetSecureVault is open source software licensed under the MIT License:

• • You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the software
• • You may use it for commercial purposes
• • You must include the original license and copyright notice
• • The software is provided "as is" without warranty

GetSecureVault is a mobile application designed to securely store cryptocurrency-related information offline, including:

• • Seed phrases and mnemonic phrases
• • Wallet addresses
• • Private keys
• • Other cryptocurrency-related sensitive data

The App operates entirely offline and does not transmit any data over the internet.

You are solely responsible for:

• Security of Your Data: Maintaining the security of your master password, biometric settings, and 2FA recovery codes.
• Backup and Recovery: Creating secure backups of your recovery information. We cannot recover lost passwords or data.
• Device Security: Keeping your device secure and ensuring unauthorized persons do not have access to it.
• Compliance: Ensuring your use of the App complies with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
• Understanding Risks: Understanding the risks associated with cryptocurrency storage and management.

You may not use GetSecureVault:

• • For any illegal purposes or activities
• • To store information that violates applicable laws
• • In a manner that could damage or impair the App's functionality
• • To reverse engineer the App beyond what's allowed by the open source license
• • To create competing products that misrepresent our work as your own

GetSecureVault is designed with privacy by default:

• • We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data
• • All data is stored locally on your device in encrypted form
• • The App operates completely offline
• • We have no access to your vault contents or personal information

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The GetSecureVault project maintainers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
• This includes but is not limited to: loss of cryptocurrencies, loss of data, financial losses, or business interruption.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is $0, as the App is free).
• Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the GetSecureVault project maintainers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

GetSecureVault is developed by an open source community:

• • Contributors from around the world help improve the software
• • Security researchers audit the code for vulnerabilities
• • Community feedback drives development priorities
• • All contributions are subject to code review

You're welcome to contribute to the project on GitHub.

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time:

• • App updates are distributed through official app stores
• • Terms updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date
• • Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of updated Terms
• • Major changes will be communicated through appropriate channels

You may terminate: Your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

We may terminate: These Terms may be terminated if you violate them, though enforcement may be limited due to the offline nature of the App.

As an open source project distributed globally, these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction of residence.

Since GetSecureVault operates completely offline and collects no personal data, most privacy and data protection laws may not directly apply to your use of the App.

Any disputes should first be addressed through our open source community channels (GitHub Issues or Discussions) before pursuing legal remedies in your local jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
